Friday, December 21st @ 8pm
Live at Blue Ocean Music Hall
Mayan expert Anthony Aveni, says that in December 2012 the lengthy Mayan creation, Long Count era ends and the complicated, cyclical calendar will roll over again to Day Zero, beginning another enormous cycle. He states, "The idea is that time gets renewed, that the world gets renewed all over again…the same way we renew time on New Year's Day." On Friday, 12-21-12, naysayers, music-lovers, and skeptics are invited to Blue Ocean Music Hall to experience The Brew’s End of the World Concert as they ward off apocalyptic floods, being walloped by a secret planet, seared by an angry sun, or thrown overboard by breakaway continents.
In 2011 The Brew announced a triple record project :Triptych, beginning with the release of A Garden In The Snow. From that album, "When Darkness Comes" is a song that was, and is still getting national radio airplay. The video was released shortly after, with the debut on 92.5 The River, Boston's Independent Radio. Triptych's second album, Light From Below, was released in December, featuring "Birds on the Window" and a cover of "Going to California." The album welcomes back friend and collaborator Bobby Read.
In August 2012, the most anticipated record, Hard Enough To Break, was released with a marquis performance at the Lowell Summer Music Series. The album produced yet another popular song, "Into the Remembering Sun" which is currently making its way to radio regionally and nationally.
